Instructions
Prepare the Greens
Rinse the spinach and kale thoroughly under cool water and pat dry. Remove any tough kale stems, as they can affect the smoothie's texture and make it harder to blend smoothly. Roughly tear or chop the kale into smaller pieces so it breaks down more easily in the blender.
Add Ingredients to Blender
Pour the coconut milk into the blender first to create a liquid base for the blades. Add the spinach, kale, and diced apple next, followed by the vanilla protein powder. Top with the frozen banana and frozen pineapple last, as the weight of the frozen fruit helps press the greens down into the liquid for a smoother blend.
Blend Until Smooth
Blend on high for 60-90 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and no leafy green pieces remain. Kale is heartier than spinach, so take the extra time to ensure everything is fully broken down. Pause and scrape down the sides with a spatula if needed, then blend again until the texture is silky and even.
Taste and Adjust
Give the smoothie a quick taste before pouring. If you prefer it sweeter, add a few more chunks of pineapple or a small drizzle of honey. For a thinner consistency, add a splash more coconut milk and pulse briefly to incorporate.
